Sindhuja obtained her undergraduate degree in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, India. She then moved to the University of Rochester, NY, where she was awarded an educational scholarship and research assistantship to pursue a Masters in Biomedical Engineering. While in her Master's program, she worked in medical image processing of pulmonary CT images in patients who underwent radiation therapy for lung metastases. Upon graduation, she worked at Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. There, her research involved identifying in vivo structural and functional correlates for cortical degeneration in Multiple Sclerosis using ultra-high field Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Positron Emission Tomography.

She is currently pursuing her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Stony Brook University.  At LCNeuro, Sindhuja works on analytic methods development for fMRI, as well as signal processing, algorithm, and software development for the Dynamic Phantom.
